Sheffield Stainless Steel metal mosaic series from thebuilderdepot.com provides a stylish and modern look to any surface. These premium 304 stainless steel metal mosaic tiles are an attractive alternative to more traditional glass, tile or stone backsplashes.
Earthworks metal mosaics consist of a porcelain body wrapped in a stainless steel metal veneer creating a tiled effect in popular shapes and formats. The cool stainless steel appearance is the perfect complement to popular stainless steel appliances.
Q. What type of finish is this metal? A great question and one that can lead to a huge amount of scientific information. Sheffield Steel has a 304 Stainless Steel Finish, (We buy samples of product, upon testing some others from auction sites there was no finish grade at all).
Why? Keeps costs down. By the time you find out (if you ever could) they are long gone, instead of years of selling a product consistently without issue.
From our point of view 304 is a high residential grade for fireplaces and backsplashes. The next grade could be 316 which is marine grade and expensive. Designed for salt water as the level of stainless steel finish comes down to corrosion resistance and nothing else, annoyingly it is invisible. So you could not put Sheffield Steel on your Miami based Yacht :)
But your backsplash as it was intended it is more than good enough.
Q. What about finishing pieces? Yes we have you covered, well we have two and we can expand this offering to ensure customers can finish the job with ease. At the bottom of the collection you have a ramped bullnose and a small pencil. Not overpriced, designed to allow the job to be finished with style. The better your completed project looks the more people will ask about it and bingo - word-of-mouth-marketing. The best in the world!
