Capture the beauty of authentic, handmade traditional cement tiles from The Builder Depot. Cement Tile is suitable for both Commercial and Residential applications.

Europeans learned the technique of pouring colorful marble powder into a mould and pouring Cement over it from the Moors. It was in 711 that the Moors invaded Spain bringing their culture with them. Handmade Encaustic Cement Tiles being one of them.

After the Moors are expelled from Spain in 1492 the use of Cement Tiles was somewhat expelled with them. It is not until the 19th Century that the wealthy Spaniards begin a renaissance of this spectacular tile. Catalonia Spain 1850 is really the new birthplace starting a period that will now span forwards to the 21st Century.

Now over a thousand years later the demand for Handmade Encaustic Cement Tiles is back. What was old is now new. The designs are endless. The unique way you can see one 8x8 tile interlocks with another to create a pattern is mesmerizing.

The Builder Depot is proud to continue this tradition. Many of the products we sell to today have been sold for thousands of years. This is another great collection with the depth of history to add to our website. Back in Catalonia 1850 they could not have dreamt that one day the USA would be buying Handmade Cement Tiles made the same way but sold online and shipped nationwide across the United States. Twenty years ago we could have probably not dreamt it. But today it is here. In stock and moving through the most efficient supply chain possible. Allowing us to deliver a premium product to our customers at the lowest possible price with no compromise on quality or service.
